Torque screwdrivers can be grouped into two types: signal-type and direct reading. Mainly used for tightening applications, click type torque screwdrivers have rotary slip mechanisms that prevent over-torque. The user feels the release of tension when the set torque is achieved. Direct reading torque screwdrivers are generally used for measuring and inspection. Numeric measurement values are displayed and provided to the user to prevent tightening errors.

Power torque tools include power torque screwdrivers and wrenches. The power torque screwdrivers are equipped with Tohnichi's "Toggle Mechanism", a proprietary torque control mechanism or with a built-in torque sensor to ensure precision torque control. Different models are available for the power torque wrenches, semi-automatic pneumatic models, semi-automatic electric models, battery-operated semi-automatic models, fully automatic pneumatic models, and fully automatic electric models.
