Mark-10 M3-1 Basic Digital Force Gauge

The Mark-10 M3-1 Basic Digital Force Gauge is a compact digital instrument designed for reliable tension and compression force measurement across a broad range of testing applications. Part of Mark-10's Series 3 platform, the M3-1 combines a 2,000 Hz sampling rate with straightforward operation and an ergonomic design for both handheld testing and test stand mounting.

Designed for applications across manufacturing, quality control, assembly, product testing, and general force measurement, the M3-1 provides a practical solution when dependable digital force measurement is required without the more advanced functionality of Mark-10's higher-level gauge series.

Reliable Tension and Compression Measurement

The M3-1 is designed to measure both tension and compression forces. Its 2,000 Hz sampling rate provides responsive measurement during a wide variety of test conditions, making the gauge suitable for both gradual and relatively quick force applications.

Series 3 gauges provide ±0.3% full-scale accuracy and support measurement units including lbF, gF, kgF, and N, depending on model configuration.

Clear Digital Display

A backlit graphic LCD uses large characters to provide clear visibility of force measurements during testing. A menu interface provides access to the gauge's available functions and configurable parameters, allowing operators to adjust the instrument for different testing requirements.

An integrated analog load bar provides a graphical representation of applied force, giving operators an additional visual indication of the current load during measurement.

Set Points for Pass-Fail Testing

Integrated set point indicators allow the M3-1 to be used for basic pass-fail testing. Operators can establish force thresholds and use the gauge's visual indicators to quickly determine whether a measured force falls within an acceptable range.

USB Data Output

The M3-1 includes a USB data output for transferring measurement information to a compatible computer or data collection system. The USB interface supports configurable communication speeds up to 115,200 baud.

The included MESUR® Lite data acquisition software can tabulate continuous or single-point measurement data. One-click export to Microsoft Excel provides a convenient way to perform additional data analysis and create reports.

Handheld or Test Stand Operation

An ergonomic, reversible aluminum housing allows the M3-1 to be used as a handheld force gauge or mounted to a compatible test stand. This flexibility makes the instrument suitable for portable measurements as well as more controlled and repeatable testing setups.

The M3-1 is directly compatible with Mark-10 test stands, grips, attachments, and software, allowing users to build a more complete force measurement system as testing requirements develop.

Overload Protection

The M3-1 is protected against loads up to 200% of full scale. The display indicates an overload condition at 110% of capacity and above, helping operators identify potentially excessive loads during testing.

Portable and Practical Force Measurement

The M3-1 operates from AC power or a rechargeable battery. A multi-step low-battery indicator provides information about remaining battery power, and the gauge automatically shuts down when the available power becomes too low for operation. Battery life is rated for up to 7 hours with the backlight enabled or up to 24 hours with the backlight disabled.
