Overview
Mark-10 M5-1 Advanced Digital Force Gauge
The Mark-10 M5-1 Advanced Digital Force Gauge is a professional force measurement instrument designed for accurate tension and compression testing across a wide range of industrial and laboratory applications. With ±0.1% full-scale accuracy and a fast 7,000 Hz sampling rate, the M5-1 is engineered to capture reliable force measurements even during quick-action tests.
Part of Mark-10's Series 5 force gauge family, the M5-1 combines precision measurement with a straightforward interface and flexible connectivity. Its large backlit graphics LCD provides clear readings, while intuitive menu navigation gives operators convenient access to measurement functions and configurable parameters.
Accurate High-Speed Force Measurement
The M5-1 provides ±0.1% of full-scale accuracy with a resolution of 1/5000. Its 7,000 Hz sampling rate allows the gauge to respond quickly to changing loads, making it suitable for applications where force can rise or fall rapidly.
The gauge supports both tension and compression force measurement and can display force in multiple units including lbF, ozF, gF, kgF, N, kN, and mN, depending on model configuration.
Clear Display and Simple Operation
A large backlit graphics LCD displays measurement information using large, easy-to-read characters. The menu-driven interface provides quick access to the M5-1's measurement modes, settings, and configurable testing parameters.
An integrated analog load bar provides a graphical representation of the applied force, giving operators an additional visual reference during testing.
Data Storage and Statistical Analysis
The M5-1 includes onboard memory capable of storing up to 1,000 readings. Statistical functions allow stored measurement data to be evaluated and transferred to a connected PC or other compatible data collection equipment.
The included MESUR® Lite data acquisition software can record continuous or single-point measurements. Data can be exported to Microsoft Excel with one click for additional analysis, reporting, and record keeping.
Averaging and External Trigger Modes
An integrated averaging mode allows the M5-1 to determine average force over a defined period. This can be particularly useful for applications such as peel testing where the force varies throughout the measurement.
The external trigger mode provides a controlled method for switch activation testing and other applications requiring the force gauge to respond to an external signal.
Set Points for Pass-Fail Testing
Three integrated set points with indicators allow the M5-1 to be used for pass-fail testing and threshold-based measurement applications. The set-point outputs can also be used to trigger compatible external equipment such as alarms, relays, or test stands.
Flexible Connectivity
The M5-1 provides multiple output options for integrating force measurements into existing test and data collection systems. USB and RS-232 interfaces support computer connectivity and configurable communication speeds up to 230,400 baud. A Mitutoyo Digimatic interface provides compatibility with suitable SPC equipment, while analog and general-purpose outputs support additional instrumentation and automation requirements.
Handheld or Test Stand Mounting
The M5-1 features an ergonomic and reversible aluminum housing that supports both handheld operation and test stand mounting. When combined with compatible Mark-10 test stands, grips, and attachments, the gauge can be configured for more advanced and repeatable force testing procedures.
Designed for Professional Force Testing
The M5-1 is overload protected to 200% of its full-scale capacity. The display indicates an overload condition at 110% and above, helping protect the instrument during demanding testing environments.
With rechargeable or AC power, extended battery operation, multiple data interfaces, onboard storage, statistical functions, and compatibility with Mark-10's broader testing ecosystem, the Mark-10 M5-1 provides a versatile solution for engineers, technicians, quality-control personnel, and laboratories requiring dependable digital force measurement.
