Overview

Mark-10 M7-1 Forge Gauge Professional Digital Force Gauge

The Mark-10 M7-1 Forge Gauge is a professional digital force gauge engineered for demanding tension and compression measurement applications. Part of Mark-10's Series 7 platform, the M7-1 combines ±0.1% full-scale accuracy with an exceptionally fast 14,000 Hz sampling rate, making it suitable for capturing rapidly changing forces and short-duration events that conventional force gauges may miss.

Designed for use in production, quality control, laboratory, and product testing environments, the M7-1 provides advanced measurement and data-processing capabilities in a compact instrument. Its high-speed acquisition system can continuously capture and store up to 5,000 readings, while programmable measurement functions support repeatable testing and efficient analysis.

High-Speed Force Measurement

The M7-1 samples force at up to 14,000 Hz, allowing the gauge to record rapidly occurring changes in tension and compression force. This capability is particularly valuable for applications involving break testing, peak force measurement, impact-like events, and other tests where force can change significantly in a fraction of a second.

With an accuracy specification of ±0.1% of full scale, the M7-1 provides dependable force measurement for demanding industrial and laboratory applications. The gauge supports multiple force units, including lbF, ozF, gF, kgF, N, kN, and mN, depending on model configuration.

Advanced Testing Functions

Series 7 functionality gives the Mark-10 M7-1 capabilities beyond basic force indication. The gauge supports break detection, first-peak and second-peak detection, averaging, external triggering, and programmable footswitch sequencing. These functions allow test procedures to be configured around specific measurement events rather than requiring the operator to manually record individual readings.

The M7-1 can also perform automatic actions following selected test events, including data output, data storage, and zeroing. This helps streamline repetitive testing procedures and can improve consistency when multiple samples must be evaluated under the same conditions.

Data Capture and Computer Connectivity

For applications requiring electronic data collection, the M7-1 provides USB and RS-232 communication with configurable communication speeds up to 230,400 baud. Automatic data output is supported at rates up to 250 Hz, while Gauge Control Language 2 enables comprehensive computer control of the instrument.

The gauge also includes a Mitutoyo Digimatic interface for connection to compatible SPC equipment. Analog and general-purpose I/O connections provide additional options for integrating the M7-1 into test equipment and automated measurement systems.

MESUR® Lite Data Acquisition Software

The Mark-10 M7-1 includes MESUR® Lite data acquisition software for recording and organizing measurement results. The software can tabulate continuous or single-point data and provides one-click export to Microsoft Excel for additional analysis, reporting, and data manipulation.

Integration with Mark-10 Test Equipment

The M7-1 is designed to work with Mark-10 force measurement systems, including compatible manual test stands, grips, and attachments. When integrated with a suitable test stand and fixture, the gauge can be used for applications such as tensile testing, compression testing, break testing, dynamic load holding, and computer-controlled force testing.

Its combination of high-speed acquisition, programmable test functions, digital communication, and external I/O makes the M7-1 suitable for both standalone force measurement and more sophisticated test-system configurations.

Built for Professional Testing Environments

The Mark-10 M7-1 is designed for demanding professional use, with a safe overload capacity of 200% of full scale. A multi-step low-battery indicator helps monitor remaining power, while the gauge can operate for up to 24 hours with the backlight disabled or up to 7 hours with the backlight enabled, depending on operating conditions.

Manufactured in the USA and backed by a 3-year warranty, the Mark-10 M7-1 Forge Gauge provides a versatile solution for engineers, quality professionals, technicians, and laboratories requiring reliable digital tension and compression force measurement.
